When you book with Omegatrips, you are booking through an IATA-accredited travel agency. Our booking business, Omega Tours and Travel Inc., holds IATA accreditation number 67790612. Here's what that means for you.
What IATA accreditation means
IATA is the International Air Transport Association — the global trade body for the world's airlines. IATA accreditation authorises us to sell and issue airline tickets directly on behalf of IATA member airlines, and holds us to the association's professional and financial standards.
To hold and keep our accreditation, an agency must:
- Pass IATA's financial review and meet its ongoing solvency requirements.
- Settle airline payments through the secure IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP), the same clearing system the airlines themselves use.
- Follow IATA's ticketing and conduct standards, which are reviewed on a recurring basis.
In practice, this means your ticket is issued through official airline channels — so the airline recognises your booking directly, and you receive a valid e-ticket number for your flights.
Verify our accreditation
Our IATA accreditation is public. You can confirm it at any time using our IATA number 67790612 — quote it to any airline or to IATA if you ever want independent confirmation that Omega Tours and Travel Inc. is an accredited agent in good standing.
What IATA accreditation does not cover
We want to be straightforward about scope. IATA accreditation is an industry accreditation — it is not a consumer travel-insurance policy. In particular:
- Delays, cancellations, or service issues caused by the airline or hotel are the responsibility of the carrier or accommodation provider, not Omegatrips. Most have their own complaints and compensation processes.
- Medical cover, lost baggage, and trip-interruption cover are not part of IATA accreditation — we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance separately.
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions) are typically outside the scope of any booking.
If something goes wrong
- Contact us first — most issues can be resolved quickly through our customer support.
- Flight-operation issues (delays, schedule changes, cancellations) — these are handled by the operating airline; we will help you reach them and understand your rights.
- Anything about your ticket or payment — we can look it up directly through the airline's system using your booking reference.
We're committed to making your trip a great one — and to being there if anything doesn't go to plan.
